My Story
While juggling an executive position with a leading Boston nonprofit, a lengthy daily work commute and coordinating caregiving for a beloved elderly parent, I discovered my life was out of balance and that I needed help quickly. I discovered and attended a class at The Chopra Center in Southern CA entitled "Perfect Health" with Dr. David Simon, co-founder of the Center, and davidji, Lead Educator, which helped shift the trajectory of my life significantly. After attending several Chopra Center classes on health and well-being, Dr. Simon suggested I become a certified meditation teacher, which led to my further journey on this path of integrated wellness. Eventually, I relocated to Southern CA and worked full-time until 2020 in fundraising for a San Diego hospice foundation while continuing to integrate these practices. Mindfulness and meditation are threads woven through my daily life and bind together my spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. Now in semi-retirement, I welcome the opportunity to share these effective and simple techniques with others, particularly to those who are feeling the stress of living through a pandemic.
